Occupy Morauta Haus: Ex-military officers invade Prime Minister's Office. Pic via Facebook by Russell Saigami
Ex-military officers have struck at the heart of Government in Port Moresby. Morauta Haus, which is the seat of the Executive Government, has come under attack. The Prime Minister’s Official Car has been destroyed.
Papua New Guinea’s Governments have been shamelessly corrupt and out of touch. Thugs dressed in Police uniform have been used to terrorize people.
Now ex-servicemen have struck at the Government over unsettled grievances. Indeed there are so many aggrieved Papua New Guineans because the Public Service and Politicians have become lackeys to foreign corporations.
While the Government has no time for its people Harmony Gold CEO Graham Briggs has been boasting about the excellent access he has to PNG's political elite and just wishes things could be as easy for his company in other countries, including South Africa.
"I went into PNG for a week and I met the Prime Minister and about 50% of the cabinet".
"We are a medium or small-scale mining company yet I have got the ear of the Prime Minister. We had a very constructive, honest, down to earth discussion about how he can help us".
The people have had enough of carpet baggers in Waigani dragging their feet over addressing people’s issues while working like clockwork to help foreign interests.
We the people of Papua New Guinea have had enough. The days of those who rip-off Papua New Guineans, are numbered. The trade winds have changed and a loud cry from the mountains to the seas can be heard. And though we may walk in the valley of the shadow of death, Emmanuel - God is with us.
